It was great knowing and working with Darrell on the 699 Stage hand crew. He brought me into that job 1989. He was always very honest and nice to me and I'm glad I can call him my friend. During his last days we talked on the phone about old times. People had always assumed me Darrell and Ben were related, but we had no idea until about a month ago. I ran our genealogy and it turns out that we were cousins from the same line of Blevins men that had helped Daniel Boone discover TN then NC in 1760s. They were called the longhunters. Darrell told me that he did not know much about his family on his Dads side and was so happy that I had confirmed this information for him. Darrell Blevins was a good man! I'm glad he allowed me into his life. Rest easy old friend.
