Crystalyne Brooke Marcantel, 32, a resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on January 24, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends.

Crystalyne was a psychiatric registered nurse and had recently completed her nurse practitioner program and her Master’s Degree in Nursing. She excelled academically at Sulphur High School, McNeese Nursing and McNeese Graduate School. She received numerous awards and scholarships for excellence. She will be remembered as a loving mother and friend.

She is predeceased by her parents Craig Simonton and Debra Broussard Simonton, sister, Tiffany Lane Simonton, and maternal grandparents Rodney and Joyce Daigle Broussard, paternal grandparents Frank and Gerdy Simonton.

Crystalyne leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters Cora and Lila Marcantel both of Iowa, LA, the father of her children, Billy Marcantel also of Iowa, aunts and uncles: Kalup Broussard, Ronnie Broussard, Gervis and Pam Broussard, Darrell Broussard, Karen Cormier, Janice Broussard, Gary and Gwen Broussard, Frank Simonton, and Judith Rutland, and a host of dear friends she made along her journey in this life.

Friends are cordially invited to a gathering on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM. Pastor Dewayne Daigle is to officiate. Mrs. Marcantel’s cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home. She will be buried with her mother at a later date.
