Never an Unkind Word

Cindy and I have known Jack for many years, in recent years however have lost touch with him so I will share the only Jack Liles I ever knew. Always quick to give a word of encouragment, compelementing accomplishments, deeds done, or whatever. Never knew him to be a gossip or back stabber always positive in anything he said to me or my wife about anything he ever said.

My favorite story he ever told me I have repeated on several occation due to it's extremely funny nature. Anyone who knew Jack knew that he was a bit on the OCD side when it come to his yard or his automobile! His automobile will be the subject of this story...

A Prom Date Sent by Murphys Law  Remembered by Blake Whitley, story by Jack Liles

Jacks oldest daughter was beautifully dressed for her prom, the only thing missing was her beau, right on time he arrived in an old beat up pickup truck, Jack assesed the situation or better yet his daughters chariot for the evening and suggested they take the family car, which they were delighted to do, about an hour later his daughter returned home on foot, barefoot if I remember correctly demanding that Jack go down the road and kill this nice young man that had left with her less than an hour ago. He ask her "Where is my car?" She just sobbed, so he set out in the direction they left in only to find his car in the ditch the drivers door open, mud about three inches thick all over the inside of that door, dash and windshield, oh and the back bumper completely detached from the car and chained to a tractor! It seems on this country road this young man got too close to the edge of the road and slipped off into the mire securing the car quite well, the yound man put his girlfriend behind the wheel while he pushed in the back, she left the door open and had the car in reverse and give it the gas and well you can guess! When that didnt work the boy walked to a nearby neighbors and borrowed a tractor and chained the tractor to the back bumper of the car which structurally was a bad idea! Anyway the boy live, the girl decided not to kill him after all and the car took a trip to the bodyshope and detailer and Jack never lost his cool, or at least that is what he told me. I will miss you my friend. Blake Whitley
