Blake Lavern Brewer
Blake Lavern Brewer, 54, a resident of Lake Charles died at his home on August 23, 2015.
Blake will be remembered as a kind, generous, and friendly man. Blake never met a stranger. He possessed a strong work ethic, normally being the first person at work and the last to leave. Blake''s personality and work ethic garnered the admiration and respect of anyone he worked with. He loved animals and had a one year old Black Lab and loved playing with him. In his spare time Blake enjoyed fishing and spending time at Big Lake.
Mr. Brewer is predeceased by his parents Max Brewer and Anna Kellogg Mims and his step father Gene Mims.
He leaves to cherish his memory his cousins Joy Smith and husband Edward, Paul Kellogg, Phillip Kellogg, and Virgil Kellogg, countless members of his work family, and friends and acquaintances his friendly and generous nature touched over the years.
A gathering of friends will take place on September 5, 2015 from 9 AM until 10 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A celebration of Blake''s life will be held at 10:00 AM. Rev. Alvin Smith is to officiate. Mr. Blake''s cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home. He will be buried with his mother in Ritchie Cemetery.
